Canning Town is a familiar part of London to me but perhaps not to others. In the London borough of Newham within easy reach of the thriving city hub of the Docklands this has traditionally been one of the most deprived areas of East London, but is an area rich in historical heritage associated with the industrial docks and warehouses. The Canning Town and Custom House area is currently undergoing rapid transformation, I have witnessed the area visually changing and decided I needed to document some of it. These are snapshots of an area in flux, developers cranes are seen everywhere as luxury apartments are flying up alongside old east end boozers, the local homeless drag trolleys to scrap metal yards as city workers pass on their way to work, rapid change is happening around the everyday life of the people in Canning Town.
